چکیده
rowth of tructures k damage y strong ales. The paper, is dynamics damage iated by estimated e setting. This paper investigates correlation properties of fluctuations in fatigue crack g polycrystalline materials, such as ductile alloys, that are commonly encountered in s and machinery components of complex electromechanical systems. The model of crac measure indicates that the fluctuations of fatigue crack growth are characterized b correlation patterns within short-time scales and are uncorrelated for larger time sc two correlation regimes suggest that the 7075-T6 aluminum alloy, analyzed in this characterized by a micro-structure which is responsible for an intermittent correlated of fatigue crack growth within a certain scale. The constitutive equations of the measure are built upon the physics of fracture mechanics and are substant Karhunen–Loève decomposition of fatigue test data. Statistical orthogonality of the damage measure and the resulting estimation error are demonstrated in a Hilbert spac r 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION OF CRACK ORIENTATION IN THE FRETTING FATIGUE OF A FLAT ROUNDED CONTACT
The growth of slant cracks by fretting fatigue of a half plane in contact with a flat rounded pad was studied. The mode I and mode II stress intensity factors for cracks of various lengths and directions were calculated using the semi-analytical method of the distribution of dislocations, and their cumulative effect on the crack growth was investigated using the strain energy density criterion....
متن کاملPredicting Low Cycle Fatigue Life through Simulation of Crack in Cover Plate Welded Beam to Column Connections
This paper presents a low cycle fatigue life curve by simulating a crack in a cover plate welded moment connection. Initiation of ductile fracture in steel is controlled by growth and coalescence of micro-voids. This research used a numerical method using finite element modeling and simulation of ductile crack initiation by a micromechanical model. Therefore, a finite element model of a cover p...
متن کاملOn the interactions between strain accumulation, microstructure, and fatigue crack behavior
Fatigue crack growth is a complex process that involves interactions between many elements ranging across several length scales. This work provides an in-depth, experimental study of fatigue crack growth and the relationships between four of these elements: strain field, microstructure, crack path, and crack growth rate. Multiple data sets were acquired for fatigue crack growth in a nickel-base...
متن کاملExperimental Investigation and Numerical Prediction of Fatigue Life in Force Fitted Fastener Holes
In this paper, the effect of interference fit on fatigue life of holed plate of mechanical joints was investigated experimentally. Fatigue tests were carried out on the holed specimens of Al-alloy 7075-T6 alloy. The interference fit process consists of force fitting a fastener into the hole with a negative clearance (diameter of the fastener is larger than of the hole) that produces beneficial ...
متن کاملModeling of Corrosion-Fatigue Crack Growth Rate Based on Least Square Support Vector Machine Technique
Understanding crack growth behavior in engineering components subjected to cyclic fatigue loadings is necessary for design and maintenance purpose. Fatigue crack growth (FCG) rate strongly depends on the applied loading characteristics in a nonlinear manner, and when the mechanical loadings combine with environmental attacks, this dependency will be more complicated. Since, the experimental inv...
